The following part deals with electric equipment and is meant for those players who do not have a lot of experience with electronic devices for Signal Processing.
Your Ruby Gamba is connected to other devices with a jack to jack guitar cable. You can plug into a mixing console, an amplifier (preferably a full range monitor or P(ublic) A(ddress) system. You might also want to add reverb, a bit of sound crunch, delays, wah or work with a loop-station. Then you must dive into the world of DSP (Digital Signal Processing). A wealth of devices in all price ranges is on the market, and we don’t know the lot, we only tested what seems useful. For good results: Pay the Price.
Amps: fantastic but expensive: AER AcoustiCube
Other options: PA monitor system. For good bass buy bigger monitor sets (12 inch woofer speakers). We use a stereo set by Alpha, Cheap and good for exhibitions and public performance. Heavy though.
Reverb: We use TC-Electronics’ Impact Twin, or the reverbs by Apple in their app MainStage (comes with Logic). There are many alternatives, but make sure you use Real Life convolutions for a Real Life sound: bowed instruments is especially hard to make reverbs for that sound naturally.
Wah: use the Cry Baby
Loop Station: use the Boss RC 300. Terrific!
All in one: use the Boss GT-100
Devices have different prices from country to country, so shop around please.
